Director duo Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha whose latest offering ‘Samsara’ has received critical acclaims has delivered comedy hits like ‘Cross Connection’, ‘Bapi Bari Ja’, ‘Bitnoon’ and ‘Mayer Biye’ over the years. We have even seen a more serious film like ‘Jodi Love Dile Na Prane’ from them. Now, the director duo is ready for their next release ‘

’ which also deals with a serious issue. It is travelling a number of international festivals currently and people are appreciating the film which is about an old man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Soumitra Chatterjee and Parambrata Chatterjee have once again teamed up after Param’s last directorial ‘Shonar Pahar’. They play the lead roles in this film. Gargee Roychowdhury will be seen as Soumitra Chatterjee’s on-screen wife. ‘Sraboner Dhara’ deals with the problems today’s generation faces and the issues pertaining to the older generation. It also tells the story of people who take care of patients suffering from dementia or Alzheimer and their emotional attachment.

Soumitra Chatterjee will be seen as a history professor Amitava Roy, an Alzheimer’s patient and Parambrata plays the role of a young doctor Nilabho Roy. There is also a suspense element in the story. The mystery prevails whether Gargee is actually Soumitra’s wife or someone else.

The script is by Padmanabha Dasgupta and based on a short story ‘Between Raindrop’ by Dr Subhendhu Sen.
