Sudipta Chakraborty to be seen as a writer in Promita Bhowmik’s next movie

Sudipta Chakraborty is all set to star in Promita Bhowmik’s upcoming film. Known for her writing and having directed two short films, this marks her directorial debut on the big screen. The movie is titled Ahana, the story follows the journey of a writer, portrayed by Sudipta.
Unlike her usual roles, Sudipta shared that this character is a first for her. Promita, known for her short films Probaho and Porichoy, previously worked with Sudipta in Porichoy alongside Koneenica Banerjee.The narrative delves into the struggles of a female writer navigating societal challenges to establish herself, irrespective of her success.
The film features three male characters, and Ahana's relationship with them adds another dimension to the storyline. Joy Sengupta plays Sudipta's husband, Soumya Sengupta portrays the character of the father-in-law, and Priyobrata Sen Sarkar takes on the role of Ahana's childhood friend. Promita revealed that Bhanu Bandopadhyay's daughter, Basabi Ghatak, plays a crucial character in the movie.
