Suman Adhikary’s ‘Bachhor Tirish Por’ based on Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay’s short story ‘Chithi’?

Director Suman Adhikary is all set for his next release ‘Bachhor Tirish Por’. The short film is apparently based on a famous story by Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay titled ‘Chithi’. Sandy, Sankalita Roy (Nirupama), RJ Roy (Jagananda), Tanushree Biswas, Subrata Burman and others will be seen in important roles in this film.
The shooting has mostly been done in Jaikrishnapur and Berhampore.There is only one song in the film – a folk song “Krishna preme pora deho”. To recreate the atmosphere as per the narrative, Suman didn’t have to face too many hurdles as Jaikrishnapur had the entire requisite atmosphere for the shoot. Before its release, the director plans to send the film to several film festivals around the world.
Suman Adhikary had also created a buzz with his last short film ‘Rannaburi’ which was again inspired by an original story. He now wants to delve into different genres of filmmaking and plans to work with those stories which haven’t yet been done adapted to screen.
