Memorial award for Best Director at the recently held

Kolkata International Film Festival

. His film, revolving around a self-proclaimed scientist Tapan Chandra Pal living in the Kolkata footpath, has received critical acclaims after the KIFF screening.

As per the story, Tapan Chandra Pal firmly believes we have been duped into believing that Earth moves around the sun, but it’s completely different in reality. Not only TC Pal is obsessive with this idea, he takes up the initiative of propagating this crazy belief to everyone, naturally facing so many hurdles, and wrath in his way. The most interesting part Arijit Biswas narrates a real-life story as there’s actually a man (named KC Pal) in Kolkata turning the story more tragic.

The director works on the main story of TC Pal and spins a touching twisted plot around it, one that sees two fictional characters with whom TC Pal crosses paths. They are also struggling with their own troubles.

While thespian

Meghnad Bhattacharya

plays the central character Tapan Chandra Pal, Chiranjeet Chakraborty and Anjan Dutt essay the two men who come across TC Pal. Sreela Majumder as TC Pal’s wife, Paran Bandopadhyay as a party leader, Pallabi Chatterjee as Sanjib’s wife and Kabir Suman as an ex Naxal-killing cop excel in their respective roles.
