This Rakhi, Tolly stars reveal their favourite sibling memories

Abhishek Ghosh and Ridhima Ghosh

Inseparable bro-sis duo
Despite Abhishek being two-and-a-half years younger than Ridhima, the duo is inseparable. “He lives in Canada now and I can’t explain how much I miss him,” she says, reminiscing, “We used to fight a lot as our age gap is negligible. And as usual, Ma used to scold me for all the mischief he used to do (laughs). But I was always protective of him as an elder sister.”

Rakhi has always been a sacred festival. I still remember how I used to tie a Rakhi on his hand and make cards after coming back from school

“My brother is five years older but he is my rock,” says actress Darshana Banik, remembering how he used to help her with math homework, and was one of the firsts to know about her relationship with Saurav (Das). “Dada has always been my secret keeper. In class 9, I had a crush that Baba got to know about from my notebook. Dada saved me from a scolding.

This year, we will connect over a video call since he lives in the US now. I’ve also made it clear that I want a Rakhi gift

A trio like no other

Actor Gourab Chatterjee is the middle child, with an elder sister, Nabanita, six years older to him, and Moumita, who is six years younger to him. He recalls how they’ve always celebrated Raksha Bandhan with rituals in the morning and an elaborate family dinner at night. Talking about growing up with them, Gourab says, “I used to get all the scolding from Baba though Nabanita di used to do all the mischief. Later when Moumita was born, Di and I used to gang up against her.”

Moumita is still scared of me! (laughs) But, it is with Nabanita di that I share my darkest secrets. On Raksha Bandhan every year, exchanging gifts between the three of us is mandatory – Gourab Chatterjee
