Three out four members of Artists Forum withdraw their resignations

Three out of four members of

the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists Forum

— Sohan Bandyopadhyay, Rana Mitra and Saptarshi Roy — who extended their resignations after the committee officials decided to commence shooting without medical insurance papers, have finally withdrawn their resignations. Another member, Sagnik, who is currently unwell, has been asked to reconsider his decision.



The resignation came after the Forum decided to go ahead with shoots without proper paperwork for medical insurances, that too in the presence of general secretary and working

During an emergency meeting that was called on July 10 by president Soumitra Chatterjee and attended by industry veterans like Kaushik Sen, Pallabi Chatterjee, Debjani Chatterjee and Abhijit Chowdhury, these members were asked to withdraw their resignations.



Earlier, it was decided that in case of TV serials, an insurance of Rs 25 lakhs will be borne by Forum (10%), producer (40%) and channel (50%). And in the case of film shoots, 50% will be borne by the producer and the other 50% by the actors.
