, the film was announced way back in 2011 and since then was lying in the cans as so many reasons delayed both the production work and the release. ‘Tobuo Basanta’ features Ritabhari Chakraborty, Rahul Banerjee, Rajatava Dutta and Rudranil Ghosh in the lead.

According to director Satarupa Sanyal, “Tobuo Basanta focuses on a serious subject wrapped in so many comic scenes. The problems our society faces these days form the background of the story. It shows the challenges faced by today’s youth, such as identity crises, social struggle and others. Interestingly, this film is the last 35mm celluloid movie but it was later transferred to the digital format.”

It’s basically an anthology film in which two stories run parallel. The first one is a romantic story and the other one is a thriller. Ritabhari and Rahul play the lead in the first story. While Rajatava Dutta essays out the role of an encounter specialist cop, Rudranil will be seen in a negative role in the second story.
