Whether it’s the latest update on ‘Durgesgorer Guptodhon’, the news of Jeet-Koushani teaming up, Anirban Bhattacharya turning a police officer in Srijit’s upcoming thriller, Jisshu Sengupta’s Bollywood update or Celina Jaitly replacing Paoli Dam in Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s Season’s Greetings; as the week came to an end, there are so many exciting updates from Tollywood. ‘Durgesgorer Guptodhon’ may release in April

Dhrubo Banerjee’s directorial debut ‘Guptodhoner Sondhane’ won many a million hearts earlier this year. Now the talented filmmaker is back with the most successful and loved trio of Abi Chatterjee, Arjun Chakraborty and Ishaa Saha in yet another adventure flick ‘Durgesgorer Guptodhon’. It’s the sequel to ‘Guptodhoner Sondhane’ and will have the same trio as the lead cast: Abir, Arjun and Ishaa reprising their roles as Sona Da, Abir, and Jhinuk. The film has already gone on floors as first part of the shoot was done in and around Kolkata recently. If all goes according to plan, the adventure flick might be released in April 2019.

Koushani Mukherjee opposite Jeet

After appearing opposite Dev in ‘Hoichoi Unlimited’, Kaushani Mukherjee will now be seen opposite another Tollywood superstar Jeet. Yes, you heard it right. We already know Jeet has teamed up with talented young director Pavel for his next tentatively titled ‘Asur’ and Koushani will be seen as the Tollywood hunk’s love interest in this film. In fact, a few sequences of ‘Asur’ have already been shot during Durga Puja. The next phase of the shooting will start from November 29 and Kaushani is super excited to work alongside Jeet.

Jisshu doesn’t want to call 2018 his year

In Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’, Jisshu Sengupta grabbed a role that redefines him. Here comes an actor who even after enjoying a successful popular run over the past few years; yet somehow has been almost diffident about the limelight. But it seems things have finally changed. As Bhawal Sanyasi, he literally owns the character. The period drama has already become a major Box Office hit this year. Jishhu have had many releases this year with all of them, ‘Ghare And Baire’, ‘Uma’, ‘Shonar Pahar’ and lastly ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’, winning hearts. Many believe 2018 has been Jisshu’s year delivering back to back hits. However, while speaking about his successful stint this year, the popular actor said he doesn’t want to call it ‘my year’. Instead, he wants to continue his good work only.

Anirban Bhattacharya to play a top cop

While Srijit Mukherjee’s ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ is right now running successfully at theatres, he is ready to hit the floor yet again for his next thriller titled ‘Vinci Da’. The mahurat of the film has already been done before Puja. Now the entire team is all set for the shoot to start. The upcoming thriller revolves around a make-up artist and a serial killer. Ritwick Chakraborty and Rudranil Ghosh will play the lead roles. Anirban Bhattacharya will be seen as a police officer in the upcoming movie.

Goutam Ghose geared up for East Bengal documentary

Goutam Ghose is working on a documentary on East Bengal Football Club as a part of the club’s historic centenary celebrations due in two years time. The documentary will highlight all the significant events in East Bengal’s 100-year old history which includes the huge achievements of the legendary Pancha Pandavas (Appa Rao, Ahmed Khan, P Venkatesh, PB Saleh, and Dhanraj) and the historic Asean Cup win in 2003. The research is right now underway. The shoot is expected to commence in January next year.

Bonny Sengupta and Rittika Sen to team up soon

The cute pair of Bonny Sengupta and Rittika Sen is ready to cast a spell on the silver screen yet again. The fresh jodi of Tolly world, who were last seen in ‘Raja Rani Raji’, will be paired again in Haranath Chakraborty's next film. According to industry sources, the shoot will start soon eyeing a release in 2019. Right now, Bonny is busy with his upcoming romantic drama ‘Girlfriend’ in which he will be seen opposite Koushani Mukherjee. On the other hand, up next for Rittika is Prosenjit Chatterjee, Soham and Jeet starrer ‘Bagh Bandi Khela’ which will release next month.

After ‘Bela Seshe’ it’s ‘Belasuru’ for Shiboprosad-Nandita Roy

Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy's ‘Bela Seshe’, an adorable family story of an elderly couple and their relationship turned out to be a box-office biggie in 2015. Now, the director duo is all set to bring ‘Belashuru’ with the same cast but it’s not a prequel to the earlier film. Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta’s portrayal of an elderly couple left the audience in awe three years ago. The 2015 blockbuster 'Bela Seshe' gave us many learning experiences. It highlighted the value of a relationship and the bonding between family members.

Paoli Dam no more a part of Season’s Greetings

Paoli Dam was supposed to play a key role in Ram Kamal Mukherjee's second directorial Season’s Greetings but her rearranged shooting schedule due to the Majerhat Bridge Collapse on September 05 has forced Paoli to leave the project. The popular actress feels sad beacuse she was really excited about the film as it’s a tribute to late Rituparno Ghosh. As per the latest development, Celina Jaitly will replace Paoli and this film marks her return to Bollywood after 7 long years.

Rittika Sen to play Prosenjit Chatterjee’s daughter

Rittika Sen’s latest release ‘Villain’ received a decent response from the audience. The talented actress excelled in her shady character and now yet another challenging role awaits Rittika. She will now share screen space with none other than Prosenjit Chatterjee. In the upcoming anthological thriller ‘Bagh Bandi Khela’ she plays Prosenjit’s daughter. It has three interlinked stories directed by three different filmmakers. Rittika will be seen in the third story, Haranath Chakraborty directed ‘Khela’, where Prosenjit plays a lawyer.

Jisshu wraps up ‘Devidas Thakur’ shooting

While Jishhu Sengupta’s performance as the Bhawal prince in ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ has earned him accolades, the versatile actor has also wrapped up his shooting part in Mahesh Manjrekar’s upcoming Bollywood film ‘Devidas Thakur’. Apart from Jisshu in a pivotal role, the film reportedly also stars Shruti Hassan, Prateik Babbar and many others. The Manjrekar movie is all about the story of underworld and the dashing actor is set to play the role of Naseeruddin Shah’s elder son. The ‘Ek Je Chhilo raja’ actor has another Bollywood film in hand, Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. He is set to debut in South with the upcoming NTR biopic.
