IBFA (International Bangla Film Academy) is an independent association with a mission to support, develop and promote the art forms of the moving image. IBFA is an academy which honours artists and craftsmen of various disciplines of film making. In addition to high-profile awards ceremonies IBFA desires to run a year-round programme of educational events including film screenings, tribute evenings, interviews, lectures and debates with leading industry figures.
The first IBFA Awards were held at Pattaya this year and was successfully staged by Jet Setters, the main organizers behind the show.
'The IBFA Awards for 2013 will be held in March, 2013 at Cairo. While most of the leading names from Tollywood will be present at the awards, the 2013 edition will also have a special retrospective of films of director Goutam Ghosh (one of the mentors of this awards) and the face of the awards, actress
Rituparna Sengupta," said Tarakeshwar Singh of Jet Setters, the main man behind the show from Jet Setters.
Goutam Kundu of the Rose Valley group has been made the patron-in-chief of the awards. Mr.Singh added that 20 films will be screened which will comprise of old and contemporary films as well.
To make this announcement, a press meet was held at the Kenilworth where several leading names of Tollywood were present.
