The trailer of
Devi Chowdhurani has been unveiled, and it roars with the power of history, rebellion, and defiance. Inspired by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s iconic novel, the film reimagines the legendary figures of Devi Chowdhurani and Bhavani Pathak against the turbulent backdrop of the 18th-century Sannyasi-Fakir rebellion.
Fronted by
Prosenjit Chatterjee and Srabanti in commanding lead roles, the trailer is already being hailed as a goosebump-inducing spectacle. Social media is abuzz with reactions, with viewers praising its intense visuals, powerful dialogues, and unflinching portrayal of rebellion.
Speaking about the trailer, Prosenjit reflected, “Bhavani Pathak and Devi Chowdhurani were not just figures of legend, they were storms of courage and rebellion that changed the course of their time. Bringing their story to life is more than acting; it is channeling the fire, the defiance, and the spirit of history.”
Srabanti, who embodies the titular role, described the character as deeply personal. “This isn’t just a role for me, it’s an emotion. The trailer shows a woman’s journey from oppression to rebellion, and I hope audiences feel the same power and spirit that we felt while making this film," said Prosenjit.
Director Subhrajit emphasized that the story remains strikingly relevant. He said, “Devi Chowdhurani’s story is a revolution that was almost erased from collective memory. With this trailer, we wanted to remind people of the spirit of resistance, courage, and sacrifice that defined her.”
