Celebrities are no strangers when it comes to getting trolled. While social media has brought the stars closer to us, it has also left them vulnerable to all sorts of negative comments. Trina Saha who recently starred in the web series ‘Gobhir Jwaler Maach’ has often been a target for trolls, but never lets it affect her.
When quizzed about the social media negativity the seasoned actress quips and says, “I don’t like to focus on it because I feel you can get a little too caught up in these things. It is like you are counting box office numbers or YouTube hits. So I don’t particularly follow those but I do like to read people's comments. Sometimes they take away from the trailer that we haven't imagined. Sometimes they use their own imaginations, sometimes they are reading or interpreting it differently, so those I find interesting. But I don't focus too much on the likes.”
She also says that this social media hatred was never there before. “The world has moved so fast, I don't know what tomorrow is going to be now. I think social media has given something to do to those who were out of jobs (laughs). I mean we're all one of them, it's not just one person. It has given a lot of people a lot of entertainment. I see so many people are at it from morning to evening and I just wonder why they are at it, but they are enjoying. It's an entertainment, kind of cinema for them frankly (laughs).”
When asked about the social media comments, the actor added, “And regarding the comments, I think it's always going to be there. Most of my fans will always want something more out of me and will always be praising. And there are certain people who don't like you, so they will always give negative comments. So, I don't think one should really go deep into it or go for what it is. And again box office has never got anything to do with this. I myself am a cinemagoer, if I like a trailer, I will go watch it. Nobody is going to influence me. I do read them, but I don't go too much into detail. And I don't like to reply because then the whole day I will end up doing that only (laughs). They may get upset.”
