Bangladeshi actress
Puja Cherry Roy, who forayed into Tollywood with Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s love story, Noor Jahan and was seen in Bidula Bhattacharya’s Prem Amar 2 this year, has taken up a new film on the other side of the border. Both the films were directed by assistants of Raj Chakrabarty, known for films like Chirodini... Tumi Je Amar, Dui Prithibi, Le Chakka, Abhimaan and many others.
Puja, who debuted as a child actress in the film, Bhalobashar Rong, has paired up with Siam Ahmed after doing two back-to-back films with him — Dahan and Pora Mon 2. The jodi has been talked about for quite some time now for their sizzling chemistry. The film also stars Taskeen Rahman, who caught the audience’s fancy after playing the antagonist in 2017 film, Dhaka Attack. Directed by debutant M Rahim, the film is about the cat-and-mouse chase between a police officer and a man connected with the underworld. Both the actors have started training for their parts. Though the details of her character have been kept under wraps, Puja is likely to be seen in a glamorous avatar. M Rahim, who assisted Raihan Rafi in Dahan and Poramon 2, is busy working on the script at the moment. He too is known to have worked with Raj.
Earlier, Prem Amar 2 had landed in an unsavoury controversy as the last part shooting for this Indo-Bangladesh project was stopped in Bangladesh because the production unit allegedly had no permission to shoot in the neighbouring country.
