When Anil Kapoor poked fun on Saswata Chatterjee during a 10-day acting workshop

To make a strong bond of friendship between two actors believable onscreen indeed takes a lot of hard work, discussion and a sense of comfort. All these need to be in place between the two actors even if they are experienced ones. Well, that’s exactly what happened with two powerhouse actors Anil Kapoor and Saswata Chatterjee who portrayed a 20 year long on-screen friendship.

To make their friendship believable they had to work towards understanding each other and develop that precious bond in OTT show 'The Night Manager'. Interestingly, this was the first time Saswata and Anil Kapoor shared the screen together. Both the actors attended a 10-day intense workshop to get their bonding right and to showcase them as two people who are friends for 20 years.

Recalling his first interaction with Anil Kapoor, Saswata had earlier said during an interview, “I was having my lunch when his hands landed on my shoulder. And I hear his voice, ‘Hi Shashwat!’ I was surprised and went to touch his feet while eating. He joked, ‘Hey, don’t do this and make me feel old.’ The next day, he invited me for lunch at his house. Nobody does that.”

A Hindi-language adaptation of John le Carré’s novel ‘The Night Manager’, the show also starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Tillotama Shome in pivital roles received appreciation from all corners.

Meanwhile, Saswata was last seen in the film ‘Bad Boy’, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The romantic comedy marked the big screen debut of Mithun Chakraborty’s son Namashi Chakraborty alongside Amrin Qureshi.
