Favourite patriotic films: Border and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

The film, Border, depicted the Indo-Pak istan War fought in 1971. The huge canvas makes it the best war film I have watched so far. It reminds me of the struggle that our soldiers had to face at the war front, and I take a bow. BMB is also a patriotic film as it showed the real story behind the ascension of Milkha, who had to face a lot because of the India-Pakistan partition.

SRABANTI

Favourite patriotic film:
Roja

A film that captured romance blooming in the midst of terror, Roja drew attention to the biggest problem that our country has faced in recent years -terrorism in Kashmir. Mani Ratnam conveyed yet another message in the film -that no matter what the ideology or nationality is, we are all human beings after all.

KOEL MALLICK

Favourite patriotic film: Rang De Basanti

The film brilliantly showed how six friends stood against corruption and raised their voices for a change. I have watched the film several times. And every time it has made me proud as an Indian. The love for my country grows stronger.

Favourite patriotic films: Gandhi and Proloy

Patriotism, to me, is an emotional subject. It means a sense of loyalty towards our country that shines through only when you have an independent mind that is free from all fears. I have dealt with a similar topic in Proloy. Ben Kingsley did a stupendous job as Mahatma Gandhi in the film directed by Richard Attenborough. A must watch for all of us.

CHURNI GANGULY

Favourite patriotic film : Nirbashito

The film expresses the agony of separation from motherland. The deep sense of belonging is akin to that between a mother and her child. When I wrote and made Nirbashito, I felt a strong connect and commitment towards a cause that may liberate one's nation from the fetters of discrimination. The background score also kind of reinforced that with strains of several patriotic songs.

RUDRANIL GHOSH

Favourite patriotic films: Rang De Basanti and Lakshya

Lakshya highlighted India's victory over the Pak troops and it rightly showed devotion towards one's country and concern for its defence. The film portrayed the sacrifice of the Indian jawans so well. On the other hand, RDB inspires a sense of patriotism whenever I watch it. My salute to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra!
