Apart from being a practicing doctor, his father Subhendu Chatterjee will always be one of the most handsome and talented actors of Bengali classics 'Aranyer Dinratri' and 'Chadmabeshi'. His son Saswata Chatterjee is now seen as one of the finest actors in Bengal, who can portray a protagonist, antagonist, or even a comic relief with equal brilliance.

Ranjit Mallick was a leading actor in his time who later became a character artist delivering hits after hits. He made his Tollywood debut with 2009 film ‘Cross Connection’ directed by Abhijit Guha and Sudeshna Roy.
