band came together to celebrate the special occasion with their fans and well-wishers. They also cut a cake and performed a few of their all-time hits till date like Ami Shudhu Cheyechhi Tomay,

Elena, Chai Shudhu Tomay, Tuchchha Ami and a host of new releases like Tabuo Thik Achhe and Joler Dhare, among many others. The band began their humble journey on August 24, 1992, and there has been no looking back ever since. They released their first self-titled debut album in 1999, which became a rage. On their 27th birthday, the band gave out a strong message to the fellow musicians and music lovers from the city. Team Cactus said in unison, “Band is beyond individuals. Each album of ours had a different lineup, in each album we gave you a different sound, so many poets and writers, so many composers, in numerous shows throughout the globe, but one thing has been constant and that is our band Cactus. People come and go, it’s the love and passion for our art that stay forever; in fact, it’s stronger than ever, bolder than ever, at 27, we are still going strong.” Every year, the band members do something unique to mark the birthday of Cactus. Last year, they cut off the budget of the grand celebration to donate funds to the Kerala flood victims. The proceeds went towards the chief minister relief fund.
