There’s a strong buzz that Mainak ‘Bumpy’ Nagchowdhury has quit Cactus. The bassist, who has carved a niche for himself in the city’s music circuit, cleared the air as he said, “I am taking a step back from everything. I have taken a sabbatical for a month; there are a few prior commitments that I will have to keep, but other than other I want to be on my own,” he said.
Bumpy said he has already informed the band about his decision. “I lost two very dear people last year —
Jayashree and
Kochuda

Cactus
has already undergone many lineup changes and if this is any pointer, there’s likely to be more in the coming days.
