Iman to host her first solo gig

Singer Iman Chakraborty is very excited. She is gearing up for her first

solo

concert on July 25 at Rabindra Sadan. “I do a lot of gigs with other singers and I do a lot of solo call shows. But this is something that I am hosting. I am indebted to my audience for all the love I have received. Through this concert, I want to give them back the same kind of love and gratitude,” she told us.

Iman has taken great care in making the playlist. “My audience easily associates me with folk music and Rabindrasangeet. Meanwhile, film songs have given me immense popularity. So, my playlist is full of that. However, I will also be singing gazal, Sufi and music of other genres. I am going to sing Lataji’s (Mangeshkar) numbers too,” Iman said, adding, “Since I write, I have planned a segment where I will perform my on writings.”

However, the musician is more excited about the last segment of the event. “It is kind of Onurodher Asor. I would take request from my audience and perform those songs. I am really looking forward to it,” Iman said.

Besides, the musician is also looking forward to meet and greet few composers she has worked with. “It is because of Anupamda (Roy), Prasenda, Debajyoti Mishra,

Ratul Shankar

and several other composers that I got to sing so many hit numbers. I have requested them to come for the event and I will be grateful if they perform with me on stage,” Iman said.

The singer has been busy since Friday morning as her new song, Rangabati, for the film Gowtro released. “This is a song that I have been listening to for long. But Surojitda has rearranged it very nicely. I loved performing it and I am sure people will like it,” Iman signed off.
