Koushik recreates Parash Pathar's Bondhu for son

. The song became iconic after it was used in Anjan Dutt and Nima Rahman’s Priyo Bondhu. After decades of its unperturbed popularity, Koushik Chakraborty of Prithibi has revived the song once again. He has recorded the song and published it in Facebook. The video has garnered over 30,000 views in a month.
But why this song, we asked? “This is an iconic song. I am a very nostalgic person and whenever I hear this song a lot of childhood memory gushes in. So, I decided to dedicate this song to my son, Mojo. I see my childhood in him. He is my priyo bondhu in today’s time,” the musician replied.
It was a project that Koushik executed almost all by himself. “I recorded, mixed and mastered the song. And I played all the instruments,” he added. The recorded piece includes guitar, keyboards, bass, cajon, melodica and dubki. “Moreover, I also sang the song and did the harmony,” he added.
While his student Subham Chakraborty did the video of the song, Soumalya Mallik edited the video. The video was posted on Facebook on December 25. “We are yet to post it on YouTube as we feel that Facebook these days garner more traction. Our objective is to reach out to as many people as possible with Bangla gaan,” Kaushik signed off.
