Musician Nabarun Bose happy to have his hands full with work assignments

, who has made a mark in the Bengali music scene with independent music and film scores, has had his hands full for some time now. Recently his work for a Bangladeshi webseries has garnered good popularity in that country. For that series, he had collaborated with the legendary

Rahul Ananda

of the band Joler Gaan for a song.

“A background score creates the psychological reality of a film. In a way, it commands the emotion of the viewers and in the process heightens the power of storytelling while the songs are designed to drive the narrative forward,” Nabarun said adding, “I have been experimenting with fresh soundscapes, which often has a combination of diegetic street sounds and bass-heavy grooves, along with influences from metal and dubstep. I think it is important to work towards creating a new soundscape because it gives a fresh perspective to the storytelling.”

Recently, he has also collaborated with rapper

and folk singer

Arkadeep Mishra

for a new single. Among his upcoming releases are films by Haranath Chakraborty, Parambrata Chattopadhyay,

Soukarya Ghoshal

, Soumyaa-Supriyo and Shailik Bhaumik. “I am currently directing music for two films – one a Saswata Chatterjee and Amrita Chattopadhyay starrer and the other has Saurav Das in the lead,” he said.
