The
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
has allowed 100% occupancy in multiplexes and
cinema halls
beginning February. This has come as a big relief to
movie theatres
that were shut for seven months last year owing to the pandemic and have been struggling with low attendance and few new offerings since reopening.
Now filmmaker Arpan Basak has come up with a new music video ‘
Nanhe Kadam
’ dedicated to all the cinema halls. It’s a Hindi music video that tells the story of a father-son relationship while the current status of movie theatres forms the backdrop.
Supratim Saha, Nabakumar Banerjee and child actor Srinjan Karmakar feature in the video. The entire video has been shot at different cinema halls of Kolkata.
While Abir Biswas has rendered his voice for ‘Nanhe Kadam’, lyrics are by Sourav Goswami and Raj Banik. Cinematography is by Pavel and editing by Adeeb.

As the stakeholders in the film business are hoping that the central government’s new directive can open the floodgates for films to announce their release dates and bring audiences back to cinemas in massive numbers this music video will surely lift up their spirit.
