nine. Even though the musician has a lot of upcoming projects and has no time to relax, he is really happy with the way his music has been accepted by the audience.

Prabuddha said that for a long period of time he used to think that whoever composes a film’s songs is its main music composer. “But things are changing now. Not only because the number of songs has come down, but also because in recent times the importance of background score has significantly increased,” he said, adding that background score is something that binds an entire film together.

As per the modern trend, multiple musicians are now composing songs for a film, but there is only one person who composes the background score. “Legendary musician John Williams is now more than 80 years old and in his entire career, he hasn’t composed more than three to four songs. His entire career stands on the brilliant background scores he has created,” said Prabuddha, adding that for a long period of time a song composer and a music composer were regarded as the same.

Talking about the success of Konttho’s music, Prabuddha said that the main thing that makes this film’s music stand out is the use of rich and

organic

music. “I made sure that minimal amount of keyboard and digitisation is used. Just lke the way it was done in the past, musicians came together at the studio and played music. This is what made the work different,” he said.
