Celebrating the World Music Day, Deb Sankar Roy and Jyoti Sankar Roy, who are well known to music lovers as the Violin Brothers, mesmerized their fans in an online musical extravaganza joining hands with Kolkata Centre for Creativity and Alliance Française du Bengale.
Titled ‘Beyond Boundaries by the Violin Brothers’ the compositions are mainly amalgamation of elaborate Indian ragas and western music like jazz and country.
Meanwhile, during the lockdown phase when everyone was stuck at home, Deb Sankar Roy and Jyoti Sankar Roy made a number of singles to make the lockdown bearable. Deb Sankar said that they recently released one of the western compositions and working on a few more. "While most of our compositions are based on the works of Vivaldi, there are some created by us," he added.
Talking about the reason behind choosing Vivaldi, Deb Sankar said that they have chosen the Italian composer to make people remember about the tough time the country is going through. "We are also working on a couple of Rabindra Sangeet projects and these are all for different social media platforms and for the common people," Deb Sankar added.
