‘Violin Brothers’ Deb and Jyoti Sankar test COVID negative

Musicians Deb Sankar Roy

and Jyoti Sankar, popularly known as

the Violin Brothers

, are back home from the hospital after testing

COVID

negative. However, the brothers are upset as they lost their mother recently. She was 82. “She was suffering from multiple diseases, including Parkinson’s. But we never thought she would leave us like this. The

pandemic

took away the most precious thing from our lives,” rued Deb Sankar, adding, “We took every precaution, but still got infected. I didn’t have many complications but

Jyoti Sankar

suffered massive breathing problems,” said Deb Sankar.
Due to the present situation, all their projects and classes have been postponed and the musicians are in no mood to start working anytime soon. “We are not in the right frame of mind. At the same time, we cannot live without music for long,”

Deb Sankar

added.
Before Durga Puja, they performed in a number of projects and many more are still lined up. The duo might also be part of some online shows in the near future.
