Actor, anchor, singer and a dentist,
Meiyang Chang is indeed content with his journey in the entertainment industry so far and he still considers the Indian Idol participation as the turning point of his life. The versatile artist who has featured in films like ‘Undekhi 2’, ‘Sultan’, Badmaash Company to name a few was recently in Kolkata and the City of Joy has filled Chang’s heart with so much warmth that after leaving Kolkata the singer came up with a return gift.
He took to his Twitter handle to share his Kolkata experience and also sung the melancholic melody ‘Kichchu Chaini Aami’ from
Srijit mukherji’s film ‘Shah Jahan Regency'. We all know how popular this song is in the voice of
Anirban Bhattacharya who also played one of the leads in the film.
Chang also left a beautiful note along with the video. It read, “Last week was well spent in
#Kolkata; chilling, chatting, gorging on home food, phuchka, biryani, chaanp, ThumsUp and just having a WONDERFUL time. I’m back now, but বাংলা travels with me “কিচ্ছু চাইনি আমি”
The tweet got everyone’s attention when Srijit retweeted it and even
Abir Chatterjee, one of the leads in the film, commented, “Keya baat.”
The original version of the song is so touchy that it will instantly make you seek within your own self as you dig into the song. Sung by actor Anirban Bhattacharya and composed by Prasen, ‘Kichchu Chaini Aami’ still being seen as one of the most romantic Bengali sad songs in recent times.
This song is a recreated version of another track ‘Rajkumarir Gaan’ from the album ‘Hoodkhola Kobitara’. The original song was penned by Dipangshu Acharya and composed by Prasen who had also lent his voice for the song. The same team of Dipangshu and Prasen recreated the song for Srijit’s film. There is also a slight change in musical arrangement while the composition remains same. It’s a melodious track exploring the essence of love and longing and one would sure fall in love with ‘Kichchu Chaini Aami’.
