Natya Akademi extends help to theatre groups

Paschim Banga Natya Akademi

has decided to offer Rs 50,000 to 300 registered theatre groups from all 23 districts of West Bengal.
Thespian and minister Bratya Basu, who is also a member of the committee, welcomed the move. “This will give a bit of

oxygen

to the theatre workers, who have faced an unprecedented professional threat due to the COVID situation, he said. In fact, according to our sources, the veteran theatre worker has also appealed to the government to help the theatre technicians, who are not part of any group.
