After Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey committed suicide, her boyfriend Samar Singh and his brother Sanjai Singh were arrested for allegedly threatening the actress.
Akanksha was found dead in a hotel room in Sarnath near Varanasi on March 26. On March 28, police registered a case under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Samar.
Today, Samar Singh has been released from jail. Reportedly, the Bhojpuri singer-actor is currently at his home in his hometown.
According to the police, the accused was arrested from a flat in Charmes Castle Society in the Raj Nagar extension area of Ghaziabad. A first information report (FIR) was lodged on the basis of a complaint by the actress’s kin.
