Bhojpuri film industry is mainly known for its on-screen pairs. Almost every actor has their on-screen partner and they together delivered several hits to the audience. 'Nirahua Rickshawala' was a blockbuster Bhojpuri film starring Nirahua and Pakhi Hegde in lead roles. The movie portrayed the story of a woman who moves to a village from an urban area and gets into trouble. A local man decides to help her but things don’t go as planned. 'Nirahua Rickshawala' was directed by Dinkar Kapoor while produced by Ashok K Kotwani.

Bhojpuri film 'Ganga Devi' featured Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan as well as Jaya Bachchan, Gulshan Grover, Pakhi Hegde, Awadhesh Mishra, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Girish Sharma and Vinay Bihari. The story of the film depicted the situation of politics in India. It was written by Abhishek Chhadha who directed the film.

The film 'Saat Saheliyan' was based on seven young and educated girls who fight against the antagonist and put an end to crime. It was produced by Rajkumar R Pandey who also directed the film.
