Avengers: Infinity War’ was dubbed as the most anticipated superhero movie of all time, it was not just a presumption, as the opening day box office numbers suggest. The third instalment in the ‘Avengers’ franchise has checked itself into the record books by becoming the highest grossing Hollywood release in India, with a collection of an estimated Rs 30.50 crore, according to a report on BoxofficeIndia.com.

The superhero film that enjoyed a wide release across 2000 screens, reportedly had a higher occupancy than even the mega-blockbuster ‘Bahubali - The Conclusion’. With the record-breaking start, the film is now reportedly on-course to becoming one of the biggest weekend grosser of the year.
‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is the culmination of over a decade of building up the plot and 19 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that lead up to this intergalactic battle between a mad titan Thanos and the Avengers, the demi-God Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy and other superheroes including the Black Panther and Spider-Man.
Apart from the hype and excitement for the film, the good reviews, great word of mouth and its engaging storyline has reportedly sent fans flocking to theatres in large numbers. Also dubbed in Hindi and Telugu, the film enjoyed a wide regional release. The makers also deviated from their usual release schedule and opted for a worldwide release on April 27, 2018, thus further boosting box office numbers.
