'Deadpool And Wolverine' has hit a major milestone at the box office, surpassing 'The Avengers' to claim the title of the 5th highest-grossing superhero film at the US box office.

The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer has now earned an estimated $627.1 million at the domestic box office, edging past 'The Avengers', which grossed $623 million when it was released in 2012.

The film, which unites the two fan-favourite characters from the X-Men universe, is now expected to soon overtake 'Infinity War' on the list of all-time highest-earning comic book movies. The film boasts of a lifetime collection of $678.8 million at the US box office.



Chadwick Boseman starrer 'Black Panther' currently ooccupies the 3rd spot wih a collection of $700 million. 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' comes in second with a collection of $814 million while 'Avengers: Endgame' holds the top spot with a collection of $858 million/

Without the latest international numbers, 'Deadpool & Wolverine' stands at $1.310 billion globally, only $39 million shy of surpassing 'Black Panther' which earned $1.33 billion at the box office.

Several factors have contributed to the film’s unprecedented success. 'Deadpool & Wolverine' became Marvel Studios’ only feature film to hit the big screen in 2024, amid a long list of web series such as 'Echo', 'X-Men '97', and 'Agatha All Along'. Fans eagerly awaiting a Deadpool-Wolverine team-up for years also contributed to the film's success.

While the film is unlikely to climb any higher on the domestic box office charts, it is expected to finish its run with between $630-640 million in the US.
