Dwayne Johnson’s recently released film Black Adam managed to have a decent opening at the ticket window. The Jaume Collet and Serra directorial had a decent opening of around 15-20%.
According to a report in Box Office India, the opening cannot be compared to the massive opening of Marvel films, but yet the film had a better opening compared to other Hollywood films post-pandemic.
Till date the best opening for a Hollywood film post-pandemic outside the Marvel franchise is Jurassic World - the Fallen Kingdom which collected around 8 crore worth of sales at the box office. The first-day sales of Black Adam look lower than that but has the potential to compete with the opening-day numbers of any other Hollywood film released post-pandemic.
Black Adam is expected to do well on Saturday and Sunday with kids and families, but this weekend being a pre-Diwali weekend, the numbers can vary. There is also India v/s Pakistan match on Sunday.
