The record haul has, in turn, kept the animated musical at the top of the North American box office.

The film which follows beloved characters from the 2013 hit ‘Frozen’ as Queen Elsa and the gang travel to an enchanted forest, is now skating to the $1 billion mark with a domestic total of $287.6 million and a staggering $738.6 million globally.

‘Frozen 2’ will become the sixth Disney release of 2019 to join the billion-dollar club after ‘Avengers: Endgame’ that also became the highest-grossing film of all time with $2.8 billion, ‘

Meanwhile, in India, the kiddie flick is also proving to be tough competition for domestic releases. As on Monday, the film raked in an impressive Rs 35.56 crore, which left the Bollywood release ‘Pagalpanti’ trailing behind.
