' has taken the lead spot at the box office for the second weekend in a row and minted USD 124 million over the weekend.

Thanksgiving
weekend gross of all time. According to reports, the film made an unprecedented $124 million over the extended five-day Thanksgiving period from Wednesday to Sunday.

: Catching Fire’ in 2013.
The record haul has, in turn, kept the animated musical at the top of the North American box office.
The film which follows beloved characters from the 2013 hit ‘Frozen’ as Queen Elsa and the gang travel to an enchanted forest, is now skating to the $1 billion mark with a domestic total of $287.6 million and a staggering $738.6 million globally.

Meanwhile, in India, the kiddie flick is also proving to be tough competition for domestic releases. As on Monday, the film raked in an impressive Rs 35.56 crore, which left the Bollywood release ‘Pagalpanti’ trailing behind.
