Rapper 50 Cent said that a television programme for the movie, a semi-autobiographical look at Eminem's life, is "in motion" during his Friday appearance on the BigBoyTV YouTube channel.

"I'm gonna bring his 8 Mile to television," he revealed, adding that Eminem, 50, is on board to assist with the show's production. "It's gonna be big. I'm working. I ain't got no duds. I'm batting 100," the 47-year-old rapper said after being asked about the show. "I think it should be there for his legacy because it's important to me that they understand it."
The idea, according to the rapper, would reveal Eminem's youth and give the movie a "backstory." Additionally, he indicated that he wanted the programme to introduce a new audience to Eminem's music and meteoric rise in the rap circuit.

The film's story was last referenced at an awards ceremony in 2020 when Eminem, who won Best Original Song at the 2003 Academy Awards for "Lose Yourself," sang the anthem live during the 2020 Academy Awards. Eminem missed the award event in 2003, when he was supposed to accept the prize, so he made up by performing 'Lose Yourself' live at the 2020 Academy Awards ceremony.
