John Krasinski's 'A Quiet Place' franchise is expanding with its upcoming prequel, 'A Quiet Place: Day One'. According to reports, this new film will depart from the familiar Abbott family to introduce new faces and characters. Emily Blunt, whose stellar performance in the films earned her a SAG Award win, has hinted that she may be stepping aside for another leading lady to take over.

Release date: Paramount Pictures announced a two-month delay for 'A Quiet Place: Day One', shifting the release date from March 2024 to June 28, 2024. The delay was attributed to the SAG-AFTRA strikes and Hollywood's ever-shifting box office landscape.



'A Quiet Place' Prequel: Confirmation of 'A Quiet Place: Day One' came in 2020. Although, initially shrouded in mystery as an untitled project, by early 2022, it was confirmed that the prequel was eyeing a 2024 release. Though directorial duties shifted from Jeff Nichols to Michael Sarnoski, John Krasinski remained integral as the co-writer and producer alongside heavyweights Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.

The Cast: John Krasinski and wife Emily Blunt, will make way to welcome new faces to the franchise with Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o reportedly taking up the lead role. Joining her is Alex Wolff, known for his breakout role in 'Hereditary', and Joseph Quinn, who shot to fame with the release of 'Stranger Things' Season 4. The cast also includes Denis O'Hare. One familiar face returning to the saga is Djimon Hounsou, who is rumoured to be reprising his role from 'A Quiet Place: Part II'.



The question of Blunt's appearance remains unanswered, with the star cryptically stating that this prequel will be 'Lupita’s movie'.



Director: While John Krasinski steps back from the director's chair, he hands over the reins to Michael Sarnoski, known for the chilling 'Pig'. Sarnoski's unique approach to the genre, promises to infuse a fresh cinematic perspective to the franchise.
