At the Actors Awards 2026, ‘Cheers’ star Ted Danson wasn’t accompanied by his wife, Mary Steenburgen; that is because he was accompanied by another loved one: his daughter. Ted was nominated for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series; however, Seth Rogen recorded a win in the respective category.

The father-daughter duo, who walked the red carpet together, donned a classic black and white tux and a shimmery gold gown for their Hollywood night out. Danson told E! That his “sweet wife Mary” is babysitting their grandson Sonny, “so that we could do this together.”

And though Kate has only made occasional appearances with her dad, both on the red carpet and onscreen, over the years, she made it clear that quality time together is nothing short of a good place. “He's got a wicked sense of humor,” she revealed, “but he's far better than people think.
