The family added that Chuck Norris had been recently hospitalised and thanked fans for their support and prayers during his final days.

From Martial Arts icon to global action star

Chuck Norris was born in 1940 in Oklahoma and formerly served in the United States Airforce before growing into a martial arts champion and holder of multiple black belts in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

He started his career in the film industry with his first appearance in 'The Wrecking Crew' (1968), but he became even more widely known after his on-screen fight with Bruce Lee in a movie released in 1972.

Over the years, he acted in blockbuster action films such as “Delta Force” and “Missing in Action”, representing power and action heroism.
