Alia Bhatt on ‘Alpha’ and ‘Love and War’ at BAFTA 2026 ceremony: ' I'm curious actually to see the response to both the films'
Alia Bhatt used her BAFTA 2026 appearance to spotlight her upcoming films ‘Alpha’ and ‘Love and War,’ even as she made her debut as a presenter at the 79th British Academy Film Awards in London. The actress also shared exciting updates on her highly anticipated 2026 releases. Dressed in a stunning Marilyn Monroe-inspired Gucci gown, Alia opened up about the contrast between her upcoming action entertainer 'Alpha' and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sweeping romance 'Love and War,' admitting she is "curious" to see how the world responds to these two vastly different journeys.
Speaking about her projects, Alia Bhatt said, “I have two very different films coming out this year. One is an action entertainer, Alpha, and then there's Love and War as well. Complete quintessential Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie with love, drama, and all of that. I mean a lot of years of hard work and love and honesty gone into making this movie. As it does with every movie. I'm curious actually to see the response to both the films. I can never tell while I'm in it. When it's out there, just hand it over to the world.” Her comments added a personal note to a high-profile global event.
Bhatt then told the audience, “Don't reach for the subtitles just yet. I was only saying in Hindi that the next award is for a film not in the English language. Because while film speaks in countless voices, what we always celebrate is the language of cinema. And that one we all speak fluently. And the incredible nominees are.”
A clip of her Hindi greeting later surfaced online and drew praise from social media users who applauded her for representing her roots on a global platform.
