Marvel knocked it out of the park with this one. Easily the studio’s riskiest film so far, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' somehow works. It’s big, bright, weird and exciting, but most importantly, it’s the most fun you can hope to have at the movies.

Perfectly acceptable as an action movie but presented as a comedy--which is probably what the Thor franchise should have been aiming for from the beginning. Every detail of the story--Thor and Hulk's side mission, and the defence of Asgard, was meticulously put together.
