Music producer Benny Blanco recently opened up on an unusual approach towards hygiene that didn't go well with fans and sparked a social media frenzy involving Selena Gomez.

In a candid interview with People, Benny said that he does not take daily showers, believing the practice would work towards maintaining his natural oils and keeping his skin "juicy." He prefers a mix of masculine and feminine fragrances, blending the scents of tobacco and cotton candy, he says, to create a unique aroma.



Although Benny also revealed that his approach does not make him smell bad, this statement has turned into an online controversy very soon. Social media users lightly teased his hygiene habits, suggesting Selena Gomez—who is rumored to be dating the producer—consider her choice. One user wrote, "Selena, this might be your sign to run!"; another joked "Tobacco and cotton candy? Sounds like a carnival gone wrong."
