As Dwayne Johnson’s ‘

Black Adam

’ gets ready to go into production, the makers announced on Friday that ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ actor

Bodhi Sabongui

has joined the cast.

According to the latest report on The Hollywood Reporter, Sabongui’s character in the film has been kept under wraps, but it has been confirmed that the 13-year-old will play "key role". This has prompted fans of the comic book anti-hero series to guess that he could perhaps play the role of Amon Tomaz, aka the young boy that becomes the character "Orisis" after Black Adam grants him a piece of his power.

It was previously reported Orisis would appear in the upcoming film, but the possibility of Sabongui playing another character also remains.

'Black Adam' is a spin-off from '

Shazam

!', featuring Zachary Levi.

Reacting to the news break, Bodhi took to his Instagram handle to say, “So excited to join the RIDICULOUSLY TALENTED cast of #blackadam!”

The character first appeared in

DC Comics

in the 1940s as a villain corrupted by power. He became an anti-hero in the early 2000s.

Jaume Collet-Serra, who has directed Johnson in the upcoming 'Jungle Cruise', will helm 'Black Adam'.

The movie also features Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr Fate.

The film is slated to hit theatre screens on July 29, 2022.
