Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's trial POSTPONED; Judge shifts date to May 2026

The ongoing trial involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has been officially postponed, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York confirmed on Tuesday. The hearing, initially set to begin on March 9, 2026, will now commence on May 18.

As per a report on People, Judge Lewis J Liman announced the revised schedule during a post-discovery hearing, noting that two pending criminal trials require priority on the court’s calendar. “As important as this case is… criminal trials take precedent,” he said.


The next key date in the case is January 22, when the court will hear oral arguments on summary judgment. “This has no bearing on the pleadings themselves. Following the judge's careful review of evidence, the outcome of summary judgment will ultimately determine next steps,” a spokesperson for Wayfarer Studios said in a statement.

Lawyer reveals how Baldoni is doing

Speaking to TMZ, Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, revealed outside court, "Justin is doing as well as he can. He is hopeful and looks forward to a positive resolution."

When asked what he expects next, Bryan shared, "We expect to move forward with the case. The judge made some rulings today that he will make more public."

"We're hopeful that once he gets the right results here, he will slowly be back to the great man that he was," he said and added, "This is an unfortunate situation and it will be good to get him vindication."

Blake and Justin to have a 'settlement'

Judge Liman also directed both parties to consult with a designated magistrate judge regarding potential settlement discussions.

Lively, filed the lawsuit in December 2024 against her 'It Ends With Us' director and co-star Baldoni, accusing him and others of sexual harassment and retaliation, allegations he firmly denies. She is seeking more than USD 160 million in damages.
