Broadway star Dick Capri passes away at 93; family confirms

After spending his last Christmas with family, the ‘One Angry Man’ star Dick Capri, left the mortal world on December 26, 2024. The actor and Broadway star breathed his last at the age of 96. The news of the demise was confirmed by his son Jeff Capri.

While speaking to TMZ, Jeff Capri shared that his father knew he had little time left. Dick Capri was suffering from a bleeding aorta, which could not be treated via operation because of the actor’s age. It is a huge loss for the family and the world that one more gem from the industry is no more. Thus, sharing his grief, the late actor’s son told the media portal, “The world is not as funny today as it was yesterday.”

Fortunately, during his final moments, Dick was with his family. He was surrounded by his son, daughter-in-law, and life partner. The actor even connected with other relatives via FaceTime and gave them holiday greetings. Moreover, the Broadway star dined at his favorite restaurant to mark Christmas. It is almost like he knew that life was coming to a full circle and he needed to make the most of the moments he had in his hands.

Born as Richard Crupi, the actor grew up in Pennsylvania. His career started as a stand-up comedian in the 1960s and eventually, he paved his path to TV shows. Then he toured with Englebert Humperdinck in 1973, which opened the door for him to enter Radio City Music Hall and other stages across the globe.

His Broadway debut was in 1991 when he performed in front of thousands of people at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater.
