Drew Barrymore prefers gifting holidays rather than dolls and toys on Christmas - here's why

Every year, Drew Barrymore plans a Christmas trip out with her children, eight-year-old Frankie and 10-year-old Olive. The two are her children with her ex, Will Kopelman.
Drew prefers trips to presents, and finds that outings make for far better Christmas gifts than toys, books or games. This way, “they will remember the photo, the place and the experience, and that is what I prefer giving,” said Drew of her gift-giving tradition to her children.She was interviewed recently by Entertainment Tonight, who asked her what presents she will be giving her two girls for Christmas.

She reasons that the two girls get plenty of gifts all through the year. And her concept of giving them an experience worth remembering is far more endearing. “A life memory” is so much better, she said and reasoned that it scored way higher over gifts such as a doll house. She revealed that during the two years of the pandemic, they had to abandon their holiday plans and she did end up getting them gifts. But I find that this “sucks”, Drew added.
There is another reason why Drew rates holidays as top-notch. Every year, changes occur and people change, as do experiences from different holidays. By the end of it, “we’re gonna have a lot of different holiday stories,” she concluded.
