The official runtime for 'Dune: Part Three' has been confirmed, and according to the latest reports, the final part will be the shortest of the Denis Villeneuve sci-fi franchise.
'Dune 3' runtime revealed
According to the early listings on major cinema chains, including AMC and Regal, the upcoming film will run for two hours and twenty minutes (140 minutes). While still substantial for a blockbuster, it still makes it the shortest instalment in the trilogy.
'Dune' had a runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes, while 'Dune: Part Two' had the longest runtime of 2 hours and 46 minutes. The nearly 15 minute shorter runtime for the third film comes as a surprise, given the scale of the film that is touted to be the final chapter in the epic sci-fi saga.
'Dune 3' cast
The film sees Timothée Chalamet return as Paul Atreides, alongside
Zendaya as Chani. The ensemble cast includes Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Anya Taylor Joy, Rebecca Ferguson, among others. Robert Pattinson is set to join the franchise as the antagonist Scytale, a shapeshifting Face Dancer intent on overthrowing Paul. The film draws inspiration from the 'Dune Messiah' series, continuing the saga set on the desert planet Arrakis.
'Dune 3' plot
Set nearly two decades after the events of the previous instalment, the story follows Paul grappling with the consequences of war and the weight of his legacy.
'Dune 3' release date
