Season 6 of 'Emily in Paris' is officially on the way, set to continue Emily Cooper’s story after the big turns that closed out Season 5. The latest chapter arrives on the back of a strong season that expanded the series beyond France while keeping its familiar mix of romance, fashion, and fish-out-of-water humor. With a 2026 return expected, the show will keep audiences watching as Emily balances her career ambitions with a complicated love life.

As reported by OTT Play, the streamer said the decision to renew the series was unanimous after Season 5 delivered exceptional global engagement. According to Netflix, 26.8 million viewers watched the ten-episode season within its first eleven days. The show reached number one in 24 countries, including Germany, France, Italy, and Brazil. It also ranked in the top ten across 91 nations. The company credited the series’ international appeal for its continued dominance and cultural reach.




The season was a big moment for creator Darren Star, who received France’s highest civilian honor, the chevalier de la Légion d'honneur. The award pointed to the show’s cultural influence and how it has helped spotlight France worldwide.

Where the story left off

Season 5 followed Lily Collins’ Emily Cooper as she balanced her career at Agence Grateau with a new life chapter in Italy. While opening a Rome office, Emily fell in love with Marcello Muratori, played by Eugenio Franceschini. Their romance ended during the Venice finale, despite Marcello’s success debuting as a solo designer and his repeated invitations for Emily to move to his village of Solitano.

Supporting characters reached major turning points. Nicolas de Léon proposed to Mindy Chen after her Venice performances. Alfie reacted strongly, calling Mindy’s choice a big mistake and admitting his feelings. Gabriel later attempted to reconnect with Emily and invited her to join him on a yacht in Greece.

Speaking at a December press conference, Darren Star said, "There are a lot of places I’d love to visit. But I think the show organically [follows] the storyline. The show is Emily in Paris. It’s never going to permanently leave its home base. But if I can take the audience on a journey somewhere else, I would love that … [It’s] fun to think about."
