Heath Ledger's life is the subject of a new documentary which offers an intimate portrait of the young star through his own lens.

Ledger died at the age of 28 due to a mixture of prescription drugs.

In the trailer for Spike TV and Network Entertainment's 'I Am Heath Ledger', friends and family recount Ledger's love for cameras.

"He was always a director, acting was just a way to get there," Trevor DiCarlo, a childhood friend, says in the preview.
