Penelope Cruz is happy to be back with Woody Allen in the recently released film titled To Rome with Love.
Their first collaboration Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) earned Cruz her first Oscar for her magical portrayal of a tempestuous, unstable artist. Cruz and Allen come back once to again to recreate that magic on the silver screen.
In To Rome With Love, Cruz plays the role of a vibrant, brash and passionate prostitute Anna, who teaches a naive newlywed the pleasures of the flesh.

Ask her what inspired her to sign up for To Rome With Love and Penelope says, “The real reason I signed on to this European-based Sony Classics comedy was to follow up Vicky Cristina Barcelona and once again work with one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.”
Was it easier for you to work with Woody Allen this time? Did it help you that you had worked with him before? “It was easier this time because I knew Woody, so I wasn’t so nervous because of all the stories you hear about him. He is peculiar and unique and different, but it is really a blessing to spend time with him, He is one of the funniest people in the world. Every day he does something that surprises you and that you will remember forever.”
To Rome With Love, set in one of the most enchanting cities of the world, is about different characters adding their own charm and thereby bringing a slice of life alive on the screen. The film brings us into contact with a well-known American architect reliving his youth; an average middle-class Roman who suddenly finds himself Rome’s biggest celebrity; a young provincial couple drawn into separate romantic encounters and an American opera director endeavoring to put a singing mortician on stage.
