The trailer opens with breathtaking shots of Appalachia’s rugged landscape, but the serene scenery quickly gives way to a sense of foreboding. “Smells like death,” Kesy’s Hellboy remarks, setting the tone for the eerie events that follow. Viewers are treated to unsettling images of a levitating woman, swarms of bugs, and other nightmarish visions.

Based on the comic-book miniseries by Mignola and artist Richard Corben, “Hellboy: The Crooked Man” takes us to the 1950s. The plot centers around Hellboy and a rookie BPRD (Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense) agent, played by Adeline Rudolph of “Resident Evil” fame, as they strive to protect the residents of Appalachia from the sinister Crooked Man, a soul collector for the devil.

Hellboy’s origin story remains a cornerstone of the narrative. Discovered as an infant demon by BPRD founder Professor Trevor “Broom” Bruttenholm, Hellboy was raised to defend humanity from darker forces. Throughout his extended lifespan, he frequently collaborates with the BPRD to unravel paranormal mysteries and combat demonic threats.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Jefferson White (“Yellowstone”) as Tom Ferrel, Leah McNamara as Effie Kolb, Joseph Marcell as Reverend Watts, Hannah Margetson as Cora Fisher, and Martin Bassindale as the Crooked Man. Directed by Brian Taylor and co-written by Mignola and Christopher Golden, “Hellboy: The Crooked Man” promises to deliver a thriller of horror and heroism.

Fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing Kesy’s Hellboy in action later this year. With its chilling atmosphere and compelling storyline, “Hellboy: The Crooked Man” is set to be a standout addition to the Hellboy legacy.
