Jeremy Renner presents cease and desist to Yi Zhou, the Chinese filmmaker who accused him of harassment and ICE threat

Jeremy Renner, the ‘Hawkeye’ actor, has denied the allegations made by the Chinese filmmaker, Yi Zhou. The actor's representatives claimed that the 38-year-old has been targeting him and lashing out after he refused her romantic advances and did not promote her project on social media.

Calling the allegations ‘false, fabricated and salacious lies,’ Renner has officially sent a cease and desist letter to the filmmaker, according to Page Six’s reports. Refusing Zhou’s claims, the actor has accused her of aggressively pursuing him with inappropriate texts and photos. The ‘Wind River’ said he agreed to collaborate with the filmmaker on the documentary, but she passed advances at him. Moreover, he stated that they had a ‘brief consensual encounter,’ and he ended things when Zhou visited him in August.

In the legal letter, Renner marked that the Chinese filmmaker asked to make it falsely appear as if they were in a relationship, threatening to harm him publicly unless he promoted the project. Previously, Yi Zhou, who worked with Renner on the documentary ‘Chronicles of Disney’ and an AI-animated film, alleged in a series of her Instagram posts that the renowned actor had sent unsolicited p****graphic images of himself in DMs and WhatsApp in June. Moreover, she claimed that when she confronted him, the 54-year-old threatened to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on her.

“He convinced me of his sincerity, saying he had been single for a long time and open to a long-term relationship,” she wrote on Instagram, before adding, “I believed in him, in the power of love and in the possibility of redemption.” In the previous week, Zhou even shared a screenshot of the clip that she alleged Renner sent her via text.
