In the photo, Kimmel and the late Norman Lear can be seen standing side by side with their arms around each other's shoulders as they smiled for the camera. Both of the stars can also be seen wearing black and white classic tuxedos, while Lear added his originality to the outfit by adding a white fedora hat.
He shared the photo with the caption “Missing this guy today.” The post came right as the TV show host was prepping for his official return to the small screen after a 6-day suspension.
Beyond his work in the industry, he was also well known for being vocal about his political and liberal views. Not only that, but in 1981, he started an advocacy organization known as ‘People for the American Way’. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the producer had also stood up and criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s views as well. During the International Documentary Association awards in 2016, he had issued a speech where he had talked about the matter, saying that the politician “does not seem to understand, much less cherish, the Constitution.”
